Tierramystica is one of the leading power folk metal bands from South America, combining the strength of heavy metal with the mysticism and melodies of Andean and Brazilian music.
Formed in Brazil in 2008, the band quickly gained regional recognition through its unique fusion of electric guitars, native instruments such as charango, quena, zampoña, and ocarina, as well as lyrics inspired by ancestral cultures and spirituality.
Since the beginning of its activities in 2008, the band has been nominated several times in categories such as “Best Album,” “Best Vocalist,” “Best Artwork,” and “Best Keyboardist” by specialized websites and magazines. Their debut album, A New Horizon (2010), marked the starting point for sharing the stage with acts such as Scorpions, Nightwish, Tarja Turunen, Epica, Sepultura, Symphony X, Paul Di’Anno, Angra, André Matos, Masterplan, among others, and also being a finalist at the Wacken Open Air Contest in Brazil.
Tierramystica has toured across thirteen Brazilian states and performed three times in Argentina, building a solid fan base in the country. Both the debut A New Horizon (2010) and the sophomore album Heirs of the Sun (2013) had two sold-out pressings, totaling over 2,500 physical copies sold, turning them into sought-after collector’s items worldwide.
After the second half of 2015, the band faced a rupture in its lineup, with the departure of most original members. In 2016, there was an attempt to consolidate a new lineup, but without success, leading the band into hiatus. In 2019, nearly all of the original members decided to return, initiating a process of musical and administrative restructuring. Between 2020 and 2022, they released pre-productions that culminated in the start of recording sessions and in planning the band’s definitive comeback.
On September 12, 2025, the band released its third studio album, Trinity, a powerful return that dives, across 11 tracks, into the mythological symbolism of the serpent, puma, and condor triad, representing the three Inca worlds: Uku Pacha (inner world), Kay Pacha (earthly world), and Hanan Pacha (spiritual world). The album was widely acclaimed by critics and specialized press and earned recognition as one of the best metal releases of 2025 worldwide.
For the first time, the band — now a quintet — had international releases in South America, North America, Europe, and Asia, practically setting up a worldwide release that prepared the group for a very challenging moment in its career.
As of 2026, Tierramystica continues the promotional touring in support of Trinity, having already done shows in Recife, Natal, Fortaleza and Teresina (as an opening act for the supergroup All Metal Stars), as well as in Pelotas, Caxias do Sul, Porto Alegre and São Paulo.
Also, in March 26th, an official music video for the track Bedtime Stories was released, which was directed by Andre Moraes, a film-maker known for his work with renowned bands such as Sepultura.
Until the end of the year, the band is set to release a remixed version of its debut album from 2010, “A New Horizon”, with the first single, “Celebration to the Sun” being already out since July 2nd, as well as to start working on it’s fourth studio album, which will be released in 2027.
The current lineup features: Guy Antonioli (vocals and percussion), Ricardo Durán (charango, ocarina, zampoña, acoustic guitars, and backing vocals), Alexandre Tellini (guitar, backing vocals), Doods Junges (bass, backing vocals) and Diego Dalla Porta (drums, bombo legüero). The band also counts on Luciano Thumé, who actively contributes in the studio and in songwriting, though currently away from live performances due to health reasons.
